The course includes short videos that are meant to guide the student into a space of creativity, in which one can bravely and excitedly, maybe even playfully, try new things without the fear of self-criticism bringing them down. The goal is not for the videos to be copied down exactly, but rather from them to inspire the student to find their own creativity, and try the techniques taught through the videos, in their own way.
Throughout the course, the materials used by the teacher include acrylic paints and an acrylic medium, as well as an acrylic pouring medium. And while there are certain practices that may not suit all paints, you may choose what type of materials you wish to use while painting your own works. For the course, you will need a lot of bases, for which the teacher will mainly use Gesso primed MDF panels, but also cheaper papers and recycled materials. You can easily find good bases in fabric or other materials, as long as you have many for multiple paintings. You will also need some sort of protection to keep the space around you neat, as sometimes painting may get messy.
Some videos in the course have been cut shorter, for them to not bore you out, while in reality some of the featured pieces may have taken as long as multiple days to finish.
The materials featured in the course have been created by the visual artist Päivi Kukkasniemi. The course however does not include the presence of the teacher, nor the evaluation of finished work.
